The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a mission-driven Research and Technology Organization (RTO) that develops advanced technologies and delivers innovative products and services to industry and society. LIST is located in the very heart of Luxembourg's new Research and Innovation Campus on the former industrial site of Esch-Belval. Given the quality of its infrastructure, its aesthetic appeal and its cultural heritage, the Campus has a strong potential for innovation, uniting university, research centres, joint laboratories, start-ups and incubators. LIST develops advanced technologies and delivers innovative products and services to industry and society. As a major engine of the diversification and growth of Luxembourg’s economy through innovation, LIST supports the deployment of a number of solutions to a wide range of sectors, including energy, IT, telecommunications, the environment, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing at the national and European level. LIST, founded in 2015 as a result of the merger between the two RTOs, Tudor and Lippmann, is under the trusteeship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Romanian Academy is the primary contact point and language technology partner in Romania. RACAI (ICIA in Romanian) was established in 1994 as a small research centre in AI and became an institute in 2002. It is one of the institutes of excellence of the Romanian Academy, rated as such in all annual evaluations since its founding. The institute has juridical personality and is oriented towards advanced applied research in Artificial Intelligence with a strong group in Natural Language Processing. It conducts PhD programmes within the Romanian Academy Doctoral School. The largest group at RACAI (10 persons) is doing research and development in (multilingual) natural language and speech processing. The engineers, linguists and mathematicians that are included in this group have a remarkable number of published papers (see www.racai.ro/en/publications/) all around the world and they have experience in collaboration with partners in Europe, Japan, Canada and the USA. The results obtained at RACAI in POS tagging, chunking, word alignment, parsing, word sense disambiguation, information retrieval, language learning, question answering, wordnet development, ontology based language processing and machine translation have received international recognition after being reported on at the major conferences (IJCAI, COLING, EACL, ACL, LREC, ECAI, CLEF etc.) and in journals (AI Magazine, Computers and the Humanities, International Journal on Speech Technology, Journal of Decision Support Systems, Language Resources and Evaluation, International Journal on Information and Control, etc.), and have been cited and used by numerous researchers all over the world. The NLP group of RACAI developed both state of the art language technology tools (tokenizer, automatic diacritics restoration, tagger, lemmatizer, chunker, dependency parser, sentence & word aligners, name entity recognizers and classifiers, statistical language and translation models builder, etc., see RELATE - the Romanian portal of language technologies relate.racai.ro) and reference language resources for Romanian: CoRoLa – the reference corpus for contemporary Romanian language (more than 1 billion tokens lemmatized, tagged and chunked), high quality word-embeddings, RoWordNet (aligned to Princeton Wordnet 3.0 and containing almost 60,000 synsets), the largest wordform lexicon for Romanian (Multext compliant and containing more than 1,400,000 word forms), the largest annotated parallel corpora, which includes Romanian (more than 50,000,000 lexical items, POS-tagged and lemmatized, XML encoded and XCES compliant), the full computational description of the Romanian morphology, etc. The language & speech group of RACAI has been involved in 80 research projects (46 international and 34 national – see www.racai.ro/en/research-activities/).
